It all started in 1851, when Moses Moss started trading in London’s West End
1897

Alfred & George Moss loan an outfit to a friend. This inspired the duo to develop the first Moss hire department for the fee of only seventh and sixpence per garment
1900

1900

During this era, there was a shift to ready-to-wear. While Saville Row was still renowned for its craftsmanship, George Moss’ skills with a pair of scissors drew legions of customers to the store for the hand-finished, ready-to-wear garments

In the decade following 1914, Moss Bros. opens its first military department, supplying uniforms to the British Army. They extended their portfolio by introducing a saddlery department and were commissioned to dress leading politicians for Westminster

Moss Bros. extends out of London and takes the first steps to becoming a national high-street retailer

Major events in the 1950’s such as the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II brought society to Moss Bros

The swinging 60s brought steady growth to Moss Bros. as we continued to open stores across the UK, cementing our position as a national retailer and household name

A period of acquisitions and expansions, Moss Bros. Group strengthened its position on the high street by adding some new strings to its bow. Names such as Savoy Taylors Guild will become an important part of the range

Moss Bros. makes some high profile partnerships by launching a concession on the Queen Elizabeth 2 cruise liner and creating a exclusive collection for Royal Ascot

Moss Bros. goes online with the launch of a new website – bringing us closer to customers all over the world

Moss Bros. reinforced its style credentials by announcing the introduction of Moss London and Moss 1851. These collections were made for the modern man, with an eye for style, craftsmanship and heritage at their core
